Sandcastle Penthouse #3

  : This is my favorite location to stay, usually! Ive stayed in one of the units at Sandcastle 2 at least once a year, for the last 10 years. This year was extremely disappointing!!! Non-stop hammering, the inability to get to the pool or beach without walking under scaffolding and ropes, pieces of wood and cement from the balconies falling in and around the pool and parking lot, sandblasting right outside of the parking spot for penthouse 3, where my rental car was parked. Copied from email at the time it was reserved: Hi Lynn, We will not know about an early check in until right before you get there. If there is another check out that morning, then its not possible. If no guest in front of you, then we probably can get you in before that 4pm check in time. But I do want to warn you about something. The building is going to be doing some construction updates this Fall. Those updates are starting In August and will be finishing in December. All of the loud repairs are going to be in September and early October. And everything SHOULD be finished by the time you are here. But I do want to make you aware that there could be painting and cleaning up when you are here. They are saying the pool will be back open right before Thanksgiving. So even if they are still finishing up, it shouldnt have any impact on you. I did want to warn you now so you are not surprised. Im certain that you all were well aware that they would not be done with the loud repairs in December, but did not notify me and allowed me to keep the reservation and pay in entirety. Sandcastle 2 should NEVER have been open during this construction!!! It was extremely dangerous for the guests, quite the liability! I would like a refund! I called and spoke to the GM at itrips. She said she would speak with the owner, but I never heard back.
